Windows 7 Touchscreen Details Emerging
Microsoft has revealed more information about Windows 7 and its support for touch screen technology. The system sounds impressive, however, reports suggest that it seems to have a high error rate. In a first version of the system, Microsoft has found problems. For example, both the zoom and rotation of work less than 75% of the time, often because the computer confused the two. To address this, engineers redesigned the system so that it looks only for acts of particular relevance to the program in use. This has made a significant improvement: the zoom gesture is now recognized in 90% of the time. The problem is that even a success rate of 90% May be too low. If you can imagine how frustrating it would be if one in ten keystrokes or mouse movements is not what you, you can see why the touch screen technology will need to be more reliable if it is really to improve the user experience. PC Authority has a story about the statements on the part of HP, which did not expect this type of technology to replace keyboards and mice anytime soon.
